The craftsmanship requirements for violin production are very high, so mechanical processing can only produce the cheapest ordinary pianos, and all good pianos are handmade. When selecting, the following points should be noted:

1. Whether the overall line is smooth, uniform, and the edges and corners are smooth and moderate;

2. Whether the bonding edges between the side panels and the surface and back panels are neat and consistent in width;

3. Whether the piano head and fingerboard are upright;

4. Whether the height of the fingerboard is correct (after adjusting the chord, the outer arc of the lower end of the fingerboard is 21 mm ± 1 mm from the middle seam of the panel);

5. Whether the pattern on the back plate is symmetrical (for high-end pianos);

6. Whether the curvature of the board surface and the position of the sound hole are symmetrical to the left and right;

7. Whether the middle seam of the piano board is tightly glued without black lines;

8. Whether the inlay line is neat, the paint color is elegant and even, the surface is smooth and bright, the luster is transparent, and the wood grain is exposed;

The easiest way to check the firmness of the gluing on the piano body is to hold the neck firmly with one hand, and gently tap the circumference of the piano body panel with the other hand's knuckles to listen to the sound it emits. If the sound emitted is a thumping sound, it indicates that the gluing is in good condition. If the sound emitted is a shell sound, it indicates that there is a peeling phenomenon.
