Anti-Static ESD Electrostatic Ionizer Horizontal Ionizing Air Blower
INSTALLATION:

   The ECW Ionizing blower should be located above work surface. There should be no cross flow of air between unit and work surface. Drafts from air conditioning and heating air outlets can affect performance of this unit.
2.1 Mounting
The ECW E-H001 unit may be mounted using adjustable mounting brackets. The mounting brackets are designed for use on a variety of surfaces.

2.2 Electrical
The ECW E-H001 requires 220VAC 50Hz/110VAC 60Hz.For proper operation. The unit must be grounded for safe operation. The unit comes with line cord, without plug. A plug must be installed on the line cord for operation. Installation of the plug must be performed by qualified personnel. The color cord for wiring the plug is as follows: Red-line; Blue-Neutral; Green/Yellow-Ground.

Operation:

Activate the E-H001 Horizontal Ionizing Air Blower by turning FAN SPEED knob clockwise, out of the off position. The IONIZATION INDICATOR will illuminate to indicate the presence of ionized air. Set airflow as desired by adjusting FAN SPEED knob. If warm air is desired  for operator comfort, turn on heater by setting heater switch to the on (1) position. TO clean ion emitter points, glide POINT CLEANER knob right and left.

The time required to neutralize a static charge on an item in the air stream depends on fan speed. Setting a higher fan speed reduces time required to neutralize a static charge.

When using the E-H001 unit in an electronics assembly area, the ionized air stream should cover as much of the work area as possible. The constant flow of ionized air will prevent items such as work surfaces, tools, materials and components from developing a static charge. Charged items introduced into a work area will be neutralized and will remain neutral while in the ionized air stream.

The E-H001 horizontal ionizer has been designed for minimal maintenance. The only regular maintenance suggested consists of emitter point cleaning, ion balance checking and ion output checking. Emitter point cleaning takes only moments with the point cleaners. The E-H001 also contains a balancing circuit that is inherently self balancing. This circuit compensates for emitter point wear, line voltage fluctuations and variations in air velocity.

Scheduled checking of ion output and balance should be considered to assure quality audit requirements.
